Stroke is the leading cause of serious, long-term disability. And here in the U.S., someone dies from stroke every four minutes.

Of course, there are ways to help prevent stroke, like eating healthy, exercising and avoiding smoking. Another way to learn all about stroke? Participate in Strike Out Stroke Day at Petco Park on Sept. 2, when the Padres play off against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Stroke survivors, family members and friends will attend the 12:40 p.m. Saturday game. Information about warning signs and prevention will be provided to those in attendance.

Strike Out Stroke Day at Petco Park is part of a national campaign to raise awareness of stroke.
