One in five San Diegans may experience a mental health challenge in any given year.

If you’re affected personally, or just concerned about the issue, the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency wants to hear from you. The County wants to gather input from the public and professionals about the types of behavioral health programs needed in the region.
HHSA is hosting 12 regional forums throughout the County to gain insight from people living with mental illness or substance use disorders and their families, as well as behavioral health services providers and community organizations.
Registration is requested and interpreter services will be provided upon registration. A light meal and/or child care will also be provided at several of the forums. You can register online or by calling Gina Brown at (619) 563-2762.
The information gathered will help HHSA determine how to spend federal and state funding, including Mental Health Services Act funding, which was approved by California voters in 2004. The Act imposes a 1 percent tax on personal income above $1 million for the creation of new mental health programs statewide.
