VIDEO: Foster Families Receive Computers for the Holidays

The County of San Diego and the San Diego Futures Foundation distributed approximately 200 refurbished computers to local foster families as part of the Computers for Foster Families Program.

The Computers for Foster Families Program supports foster families by increasing computer and internet access for some of the region’s most vulnerable children. The County Board of Supervisors created the San Diego Futures Foundation and Supervisor Cox initiated the program in 2001 to provide free, refurbished County-owned computers to foster families.

There are approximately 2,600 children in out-of-home care in San Diego County. Over 2,200 licensed foster families and relatives provide care for these abused and neglected children.
