Get Out, Have Fun and Get Your Pet Microchipped!

Reading Time: < 1 minute

County Animal Services will be microchipping animals at the Allied Gardens Recreation Center Saturday, June 2 between 10 a.m. and noon. The microchipping clinic will be part of the 21st Annual San Diego Basset Hound Rescue Picnic taking place at 5155 Greenbrier Avenue in San Diego. You can enjoy the outdoors, have fun, take advantage of the microchipping service and get a variety of free gifts.

“The chance of a lost pet being reunited with its owner is increased if the animal is microchipped,” said Dawn Danielson, Director of County Animal Services. “Pet owners always feel distraught and helpless if they can’t find their lost pet. A microchip in your pet will give you peace of mind and could save your pet’s life!”

The Department will microchip pets for a one-time fee of $20, which includes the registration.

Everyone with a dog or cat can take advantage of this offer and enjoy the festivities at the picnic too. You’ll see a fun variety of Basset Hounds all gathered in one place at one time.

For the protection of owners and their pets, dogs must be on a leash and cats in a carrier while at the microchipping clinic. For more information, contact the County Department of Animal Services at (619) 767-2675 or visit sddac.com.
