Reading Time: < 1 minute

Mix together a rock-climbing wall, healthy food samples, martial arts demonstrations, exercise tips, dance classes, great music, informational booths, free health and dental screenings and what do you get?

You get the annual “It’s How We Live!” festival that will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 21 at the Spring Valley County Park at 8735 Jamacha Blvd.

Parking and admission are free at the festival. In addition to the other activities, there will be crafts, games, health-related prizes and giveaways.

The event is held each year to inspire and help parents and kids learn how to live healthier lives, and to recognize that being healthy can be fun. The festival’s unofficial motto is “Go Play. Get Fit. Be Healthy.”

Free health screenings will include body-fat analysis and dental screenings.

The event is being sponsored by the San Diego County Department of Parks and Recreation, the County Health and Human Services Agency, the San Diego County Library, the Spring Valley Youth and Family Coalition, the Otay Water District and the Healthy Adventures Foundation.
