VIDEO: Learning the Ropes for Animal Rescue

Reading Time: < 1 minute

A cat gets stuck in a tree. A puppy falls down a ravine. How can we safely rescue these kinds of animals?

County Animal Services officers know just what to do in these types of situations, thanks to a special rescue training conducted this week by Animal Search and Rescue.

Participants learned how to rappel, as well as safely secure both large and small animals in rescue situations that involve cliffs and extreme terrain.

Animal rescue responders from various local organizations participated in the exercise so they can conduct these types of rescues in a safe, cooperative manner.
