You’ve probably heard of Indeed, Monster and CareerBuilder job search engines, but if you’re looking for work in Southern California and want to work in the behavioral health arena, there is a new site that could help you land a job.

The new web site, www.JobsInSoCal.com, was recently launched to help job seekers search for behavioral health positions in the County of San Diego and nine other Southern California counties, as well as their contractors.

The free site allows individuals to post their resume and use several criteria to search for available jobs. It also offers information and resources about careers in Behavioral Health, which includes a wide array of positions in mental health and alcohol and other drug services for children and adults.

“Our most valuable asset is our employees,” said Chairman Greg Cox, County Board of Supervisors. “So it’s important that we take advantage of opportunities to promote our job openings so we can attract the best candidates.”

Careers in Behavioral Health include positions in areas such as social work, psychology, substance abuse, psychiatry, marriage and family therapy, peer and family support, and nursing.

“We are always looking for employees who possess the cultural and linguistic skills to better serve our behavioral health consumers,” said Alfredo Aguirre, director of Behavioral Health Services (BHS) for the County Health and Human Services Agency. “The site will help us attract applicants with the qualifications and experience to match the populations we serve, leading to an improved quality of care.”

www.JobsInSoCal.com  was created by the Southern Counties Regional Partnership—including the County’s Workforce Education and Training Collaborative—with funding from the Mental Health Services Act or millionaires’ tax.
