Prospective Families Fall Hard for Clifford

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The tiny Chihuahua blend stands tall atop a stack of more than 70 applications for his adoption. The three-month-old puppy was rescued after an 80-foot fall from a cliff in Ocean Beach Jan. 11.

The little pup did not have a collar or ID tags at the time he was rescued so the County Animal Services Department’s Spirit Fund helped pay for his veterinary care. He was named Clifford after the fall.

The three-pounder is healthy now and could be placed in a new ‘forever’ home by the end of the week. Looks like Clifford tried to help out by making some phone calls on his own!

Potential adopters came in over the weekend and a decision on his new family is expected soon. County staff hopes those who aren’t able to take Clifford home will consider one of the many other dogs available for adoption.
