Sheriff’s Deputies Spread Holiday Cheer

Reading Time: < 1 minute

It was a Christmas miracle for many deserving families over the weekend when San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies had the privilege of delivering cash to surprised residents.

You have no idea what a blessing that is… that’s a miracle.

Recipient of cash

Three anonymous community members, or Secret Santas, donated $15,000 for deputies to hand out. Deputies delivered between $200 and $500 to families they identified as in need while working as School Resource Deputies or while on patrol in speaking to members of the community.

Some families are struggling to pay rent, others are coping with the loss of jobs and family members, and some are those with high medical bills.

“…to bring them a little bit of joy right before Christmas is a privilege,” said Deputy Juan Andrade.
