Ten years since the wildfires of 2003. About half of the County park system was destroyed — 15,000 acres devastated, 23 parks affected, dozens of structures destroyed. It was an opportunity to rebuild with new designs and to use new fire resistant materials and green building techniques. A decade later, the County park system is better than before; the pride of San Diego County.
