5 Safe-Cooking Tips for the Fourth!

You can almost smell the barbecues heating up! The Fourth of July is a time for get-togethers, celebrations — and lots and lots of food.

And the last thing any backyard or picnic chef wants is for their meal to make anybody sick. So, remember to cook safely and not invite any unwanted bacterial guests like salmonella, listeria, or E. coli to your party that can cause food-borne illness.

Here are five helpful tips from San Diego County’s Department of Environmental Health: Plan Ahead, Clean, Separate, Cook and Chill.
