The Sheriff’s Department participated with the United African American Ministerial Action Council in the Guns for Gift Cards program. $50 was given for shotguns and rifles, $100 for hand guns and assault weapons. Since the collaboration started four years ago, hundreds of weapons and ammunition have been taken off the streets of San Diego County.
