Get your animals microchipped, vaccinated and licensed by County Animal Services from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 during the Cardiff Dog Days of Summer event.
The canine festival and contest will take place along Aberdeen Drive in Cardiff.
“As you walk down Aberdeen Drive with your pet to enjoy all the dog-related activities and vendors, stop by the County Animal Services booth and get your pet vaccinated for rabies, purchase a dog license and a microchip all in one spot,” said County Animal Services Director Dawn Danielson. “A microchip removes any doubt about ownership and helps us bring animals and their owners back together if they are separated.”
Animal Services will microchip pets for a one-time fee of $10 which includes the registration. Rabies vaccinations for dogs four months or older are $6. Amnesty from late fees is offered to owners who have failed to license their dog or have allowed their dog’s annual license to lapse. Spay/neuter coupons will be available, $25 for male pets, $50 for female pets.
Rabies vaccinations and microchipping are available to anyone. Licenses are available to residents who live in the department’s service area of the unincorporated county or the contract cities of San Diego, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Solana Beach, Del Mar and Santee.
