VIDEO: Local Veteran Finds a Place to Call Home

Housing all local veterans experiencing homelessness is the goal behind a new County-led effort that launched in July. The Leave No Veteran Homeless initiative will partner the County of San Diego with regional, state and federal organizations to make veteran homelessness in the region rare, brief and non-reoccurring… or at “Functional Zero.” It means every unhoused veteran will have the opportunity and support they need to gain permanent housing. For Army veteran, Fred Otto, transitioning from life on the street to a home of his own, is better than he ever dreamed.
