The public will have a chance to learn more about the County’s $8.48 billion recommended budget at two upcoming community sessions.
Attendees can find out how the budget process works, ask questions about the recommended budget and give their feedback.
County staff will be on hand to talk about funding priorities such as behavioral health, homelessness, housing and public safety. The budget will retain funding for core services like fire protection, libraries and parks.
The first session will be set up as an open house and take place Thursday May 23 at the County Operations Center in Kearny Mesa. Drop in any time between 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
The second one will be virtual on Zoom and take place at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29 and include a presentation and moderated comment period.

Budget hearings will take place before the Board of Supervisors at 9 a.m. on Tuesday June 4 and at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 6.
The Board will hold deliberations and adopt the budget on June 25. The adopted budget takes effect July 1.
