A major sculpture by acclaimed Seattle artist Ann Gardner has been added to the collection of public art at the County Operations Center in Kearny Mesa.

The sculpture, titled “Song of Night and Day,” is a 20-foot long mobius-shaped piece of art for the exterior of the new crime lab. It is shaped from 10-inch aluminum pipe welded at 45 different points covered in 140 square feet of individually applied half-inch blue and gold mosaic glass tile.

Gardner was commissioned by the County to keep up the policy of including works of art at new County buildings.
