Aging & Independence Services Offers In-Person and Virtual Chronic Disease Classes

San Diego County’s Aging & Independence Services (AIS) is offering free in-person classes focused on helping San Diegans cope with chronic disease. The classes were virtual during the pandemic but are officially back in public gathering places with a new series serving the community. Virtual classes will also continue.

Millions Available to Support Housing Projects in San Diego County

Continuing its efforts to expand the supply of affordable housing, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors has made $25 million available for affordable housing developments. In addition to these funds, Project Based Housing Choice vouchers and Project Based Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing vouchers are also available.

TB Exposure Affects Multiple Services at Father Joe’s Villages

San Diego County Board of Supervisors Approve Anti-Tobacco Grant Funding

Strengthening efforts to prevent youth smoking, today the San Diego County Board of Supervisors approved the acceptance of more than $1.6 million in funding from the California Department of Justice Tobacco Grant Program. The grant will fund enforcement-related activities ensuring businesses in unincorporated San Diego County follow the proper protocols required to maintain their license to sell tobacco products.
