Reading Time: < 1 minute

Time is ticking away. Tuesday is  the final day to pay the second installment of your property taxes. If you wait  you will have to pay a 10 percent penalty plus a $10 processing fee and who needs to pay that kind of extra money?

As of last Thursday, 362,882 tax bills remained to be paid adding up to a whopping $1 billion dollars.  The San Diego County Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office is expecting a very busy day Tuesday and has extended its office hours at its five branch offices from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for that one day only.

You can also call in your payment by dialing toll free (877) 829-4732 or you can pay online at sdtreastax.com. If you would like to pay in person, visit one of the five locations below.

Property tax bill payments are due in two equal installments. The first was due November 1 and delinquent after December 10, 2011. The second was due February 1 and is delinquent after April 10.
