May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to highlight the importance of mental health and to note that no one is alone in confronting struggles.
This month, people are encouraged to check-in with friends and loved ones, learn more about resources and reach out to get support for their mental health or that of a loved one.
County Behavioral Health Services invites you to take the 30-Day Mental Wellness Practice, a free and friendly way to engage in daily self-care activities.
“Mental Health Awareness Month reminds us of the importance of taking care of our mind and emotions,” said Dr. Luke Bergmann, Director of County Behavioral Health Services. “The 30-Day Mental Wellness Practice is a great way to get started and try new self-care activities that we hope people will make part of their everyday lives.”
The 30-Day Mental Wellness kit includes 40 self-care practices and activity worksheets, phone wallpapers and more. All materials are available in both English and Spanish.
Self-care activities include developing a nighttime routine, trying a new recipe, calling a loved one, doing a one-day digital detox, coloring or watching the sunset.
Resources are available to help people experiencing a mental health challenge that can affect thinking, emotions, behaviors or mood.
If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health challenge, call the Access and Crisis Line at 1-888-724-7240.
