County Library Branches Offering Free Summer Meals for Kids

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Free healthy lunches for children 18 and under are available once again this summer at several San Diego County Library branches. Two locations are also offering breakfast and one location is providing dinner as well.

The library is partnering with the Summer Meals Coalition to provide the meals to children throughout the county to fill the gap in nutrition during the summer months. During the school year, many local children rely on discount lunch programs to get proper nutrition.

“The free lunch program is a perfect example of the essential services San Diego County Library provides,” said Anna Hartman, Program Services Librarian.  “The program ensures that kids and teens have a nutritious meal during the summer, and welcomes them into the library to participate in other programs, check out books, and become lifelong readers.”

No documentation or enrollment is required. The free lunches are available at the following locations and times:
