San Diego County Public Health is reaffirming its support of the current childhood vaccine schedule recommend by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), West Coast Health Alliance and American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)

“Spacing out vaccines or not getting all the recommended vaccines can increase the risk of serious illness for a child,” said County Public Health Officer Sayone Thihalolipavan, MD, MPH. “Decades of studies show existing childhood vaccines are safe and effective.”

Health officials note that the combined measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine is safe and effective in its combined form and not linked to autism.
