It used to happen only once a year, but patients liked it so much, they now enjoy it every six months.
We are talking about the auto show at Edgemoor, the County’s skilled nursing facility.
The car show is organized by Richard Brown and Jim Craig, two of Edgemoor’s many volunteers. The pair got the idea two years ago after seeing several classic cars parked outside a restaurant during their Saturday lunch outings.
“We do it for the patients,” said Brown, who along with Craig and Miss El Cajon 2012 Stephanie Schauer posed for photos with patients near some of their favorite cars. “It’s a great opportunity for them to get outside and enjoy it.”
How does Brown get owners to bring their cars to Edgemoor?
“I buy them lunch,” he said.
