San Elijo Lagoon Nature Center

Did you know that 40% of all North American bird species have been observed in the San Elijo Lagoon? Gain insight into our native birds and their lifestyles, including endangered species that call the estuary their home. Don’t forget to bring hats, sunscreen and binoculars – or you could borrow a pair from us. All ages are welcome. Meet at the front door of San Elijo Lagoon Nature Center.

There is one session at 10 a.m. and a second one at 1 p.m.

Celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Kids in Parks program with seven TRACK Trails events across San Diego County! The TRACK Trails program is designed to help children find fun ways to explore the natural beauty of our parks. The system features kiosks on the trail with brochures on turning an ordinary hike into an adventure. There are plenty of adventures to choose from; kids can embark on a guided hike, learn all about the park’s history, gain insight into native birds and endangered species and more.
