Vista Library to Celebrate Grand Remodel

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Music, dancing and a free book giveaway for kids will celebrate the grand re-opening of the Vista Library Saturday, April 28. Kids, teens and adults are expected to join the festivities at the remodeled library at 700 Eucalyptus Avenue.

While the library branch remained open during the remodel, Saturday’s event will show visitors how the facility’s floor space was reconfigured for a newly designed children’s area, a teen space, an enclosed computer lab and study rooms.

“Libraries are more than just books,” said County Supervisor Bill Horn. “Today they are centers where residents can learn, grow and connect with other members of the community.”

“The Vista Library was remodeled to increase customer access to the essential services and resources we offer to the community, free of charge, just for walking in our doors,” said José Aponte, Director of San Diego County Library.

Besides Supervisory Horn and Director Aponte, other dignitaries expected Saturday include Judy Ritter, Mayor of the City of Vista; Bernie Rappaport, Former President of the Friends of the Vista Library; and Jaydon Sterling Randall, a local artist who created the new kite sculpture at the branch.

Kids will be given a free book in honor of Día de los niños/Día de los libros (Children’s Day/Book Day) and can watch performances by Ballet Folklorico and the Palomar College Ensemble.
