
The Registrar of Voters office will open more than 200 vote centers across San Diego County on Saturday, May 30, giving voters the option to vote early at more than 200 locations. All vote centers will be open daily through Monday, June 1, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On Election Day, Tuesday, June 2, all vote centers, official ballot drop boxes and the Registrar of Voters office will extend hours from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Residents can use the Registrar’s online map to find vote centers and check estimated wait times.
Voting early helps ballots get counted faster and may reduce lines on Election Day.
Vote Center Services
When you visit a vote center, voters can:
Voters using the ballot marking device will print their official ballot, review it, place it in a secrecy sleeve and give it to a poll worker, who will deposit it in the ballot box for counting at the Registrar’s office. The ballot marking device does not store, tabulate or count any votes.
To save time, voters can review their voter information pamphlet and mark their selections on the sample ballot before visiting a vote center.
Returning Mail Ballots
As the last day of voting approaches, the Registrar encourages voters to return their ballot at a vote center or an official ballot drop box.
Registrar staff collect ballots from drop boxes daily to ensure secure and timely delivery.
To return a ballot at an official ballot drop box, voters should:
Voters mailing their ballot must ensure that it is postmarked on or before June 2 and received within seven days.
Ballots returned at official drop boxes or vote centers must be dropped off by 8 p.m. on Election Day. Voters using the U.S. Postal Service may sign up for ballot tracking to follow their ballot through the process.
Campaigning or electioneering within 100 feet of a vote center or official ballot drop box is prohibited. This includes displaying or sharing information advocating for or against any ballot contests or circulating petitions, including those for initiatives, referenda, recall or candidate nominations.
