Pre-Halloween DUI Crackdown Nets Four Arrests

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Law enforcement worked to keep the weekend before Halloween safe with saturation DUI patrols in the areas around San Diego State University and Qualcomm Stadium. Halloween parties and Aztec football games typically bring an increase in DUI drivers.

The San Diego Sheriff’s Department worked with officers from various agencies as part of the Avoid the 15 Task Force. They stopped 129 vehicles, conducted 16 field sobriety tests, and made four DUI arrests. They issued several citations for other violations, including two unlicensed drivers, one suspended/revoked license and two open containers of alcohol.

The operation was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
