2020 is over. And many hope 2021 will be better. But what do the experts say, at least when it comes to the economy?

Representatives from four industry sectors discussed the trends and their forecasts Thursday during the 37th Annual San Diego County Economic Roundtable.

The roundtable is the longest-running, local economic forecasting event in the region. But this year, the free event was virtual due to safety concerns over COVID-19.

County Board of Supervisors Chair Nathan Fletcher gave the opening remarks and USD School of Business Associate Professor of Economics Ryan Ratcliff made a keynote address.

Chief Economist Daniel Enemark from the San Diego Workforce Partnership acted as moderator for the panel discussion. Watch the full event above.

  The experts were:

  • Karmin Noar, Executive Director, Biocom Institute
  • Mysty Rusk, Founding Director, Free Enterprise Institute
  • Taylor Eubanks, Recruiting Sourcer, Tesla
  • Kerri Verbeke Kapich, Chief Operating Officer, San Diego Tourism Authority
