San Diego County: Select Vote Centers to Open for June Gubernatorial Primary

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Starting Saturday, May 23, 41 vote centers across San Diego County will open for early voting. People living in the county can vote in person at any location from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Additional vote centers will open the following Saturday, May 30, bringing the total number of locations to 220 countywide. These centers will also be open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On the final day of voting, June 2, all vote centers, official ballot drop boxes and the Registrar of Voters office will extend hours from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Residents can use the Registrar’s online map to find nearby vote centers and see estimated wait times.

Early voting supports prompt ballot processing and can help reduce wait times on Election Day.

Vote Center Services

When you visit a vote center, you can:

People who use the ballot marking device will print their official ballot, review it, place it in a secrecy sleeve and hand it to a poll worker, who will deposit it in the ballot box for counting at the Registrar’s office.

The ballot marking device does not store, tabulate or count any votes.

To save time at the vote center, review your voter information pamphlet ahead of time and mark your selections on the sample ballot. You may bring it with you to help transfer your choices to your official ballot.

All active registered voters were sent a ballot in the mail.

To return a ballot by mail or at an official ballot drop box, voters should:

Mailed ballots must be postmarked on or before June 2 and received within seven days. Ballots returned at official drop boxes or vote centers must be dropped off by 8 p.m. on Election Day.  Campaigning or electioneering within 100 feet of a vote center or official ballot drop box is not allowed. This includes the visible display or audible dissemination of information that advocates for or against any contests on the ballot. This also includes circulating petitions, including those for initiatives, referenda, recall or candidate nominations.
