It’s the most romantic day of the year and one of the busiest for saying “I do” at the County.
Slots are filling up quickly for Valentine’s Day civil ceremonies and marriage license appointments at the four County facilities that offer them: the County Administration Center downtown, and the County Clerk’s San Marcos, El Cajon and Chula Vista offices.
To accommodate demand, walk-in ceremonies will be available Feb. 14 at the CAC, located at 1600 Pacific Highway. Couples can get married at the County’s scenic outdoor site overlooking San Diego Bay, as always.
San Diego County Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk Ernest J. Dronenburg, Jr. said his office will increase staff at the downtown location that day to manage the additional demand.
“Call right now so we can plan on helping you,” he said.
The CAC will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 pm on Feb. 14 for licenses and ceremonies. To make a reservation, call (619) 237-0502. Appointments are recommended, but will not be required at the downtown location that day.
Non-confidential marriage licenses cost $70.00 and confidential marriage licenses are $89.00. Couples who want to get married on the CAC’s scenic grounds overlooking San Diego Bay can do so for an additional $88.00. Witnesses are also available, if needed, for $18.00. No blood tests or mandatory waiting periods are required to obtain a license.
Marriage licenses and civil ceremonies are also available at the El Cajon (200 S. Magnolia Ave.), San Marcos (141 E. Carmel St.) and Chula Vista (590 Third Ave.) offices between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Appointments are required and can be made by calling (619) 237-0502.
