Students around the county took steps toward a healthier lifestyle as they joined national Walk to School Day.
Today, the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) was awarded a grant of over $3 million for prevention of chronic disease in San Diego. Today’s grant award has the potential to bring over $15 million to the region over the next 5 years. This is the second largest Community Transformation Grant awarded to a county government in the nation.
As a new flu season begins, the County is strongly urging vaccinations for everyone over 6 months old.
There will be less free flu vaccine available for low-income adults in the region, but County health officials expect there to be plenty of vaccine for all persons who want it.
The County is launching a campaign to get people talking about their mental well-being, in hopes of saving lives.
