Given the ongoing shortage in supply of COVID-19 vaccine doses in the region, local vaccinations sites are prioritizing people with second appointments.

More than one million COVID-19 doses have been delivered to the region and over 924,000 doses have been administered.

March 1-6, 2021 is Preteen Vaccine Week and County health officials say this is the ideal time for parents to catch up and make sure their children get all the recommended vaccines they may have missed.

The County is reserving a portion of available COVID-19 vaccination appointments each day for a pilot project that aims to equitably distribute the novel coronavirus vaccine.

A new COVID-19 vaccination site will open Feb. 14 in Vista, capable of providing up to 500 doses daily.

The County has opened four vaccination super stations and operates 15 smaller community points of dispensing, or PODs. While combined they have the capacity to vaccinate 20,000 people daily, the County doesn’t have access to that many daily doses yet to be able vaccinate everyone who wants one.
