More than 17,000 Pounds of Rx Drugs Are Off the Streets

The totals are in for the recent National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, and San Diegans turned in 8,411 pounds of unwanted or expired medications at 42 drop-off sites. Additionally, local law enforcement agencies provided the Drug Enforcement Agency with another 8,965 pounds of prescription drugs collected at year-round drop boxes.

Board Expands Social Host Ordinance to Include Marijuana

Fire Authority, Community Agencies Partner to Provide Free Smoke Alarms

If you are unlikely to install a smoke alarm in your home due to issues with mobility or financial constraints, then you could qualify for a program that will install them for you at no cost. More than a hundred homeowners in the County’s rural areas have already qualified as part of a recent and expanding campaign to equip households with the lifesaving equipment.
