A new website allows residents to compare local residential care facilities so they can choose the one that best fits their aging family member.
Choose Well San Diego is a “one-stop shop” for information and currently includes about 120 assisted living and board care homes for older adults that have volunteered. Many more are expected to join.
“There’s about 11 different quality measures for each facility… like food, staffing, medical responses and more,” said Chairwoman Dianne Jacob.
The website includes Better Business Bureau-style ratings to guide consumers to the most appropriate assisted living facility for their elderly loved ones.
“It’s online, so you can access it anytime,” Supervisor Greg Cox said. “Best of all – it’s free.”
