County officials and building crews celebrated a construction milestone on the new Sheriff’s crime lab. A “topping out” ceremony marked the last beam being put into place.
The 156,000 square-foot facility will house the Sheriff’s Regional Crime Laboratory, Central Investigations Division, and Property and Evidence Division.
The building will be the next addition to the County Operations Center in Kearny Mesa. It’s scheduled to open in summer 2018.
