4C7A8585

The 34th Annual Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony was held on Wednesday, May 2, at the Regional Law Enforcement Memorial in the Waterfront Park.

The ceremony honors all San Diego County law enforcement officers who have given their lives in the line of duty.

There are 87 names sandblasted into the exterior glass of the memorial. One name, Lawrence B. Pierce, United States Border Patrol, was added to the wall this year. Pierce was killed in 1995 while intervening in a stabbing in Chula Vista. His name was submitted for review to the Memorial Foundation this year.
