CAL FIRE/San Diego County Fire and the state are helping homeowners in high fire-risk unincorporated communities with retrofitting using ember-resistant materials and incorporating defensible space to “harden” homes from wildfires. The California Wildfire Mitigation Program is a pilot program with a goal of increasing community resilience in San Diego during a wildfire.
