Black Fur-day Deal at Animal Services This Saturday, Sunday

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Get your Black Friday shopping done the day after Thanksgiving so you can take advantage of a pet adoption special at County Animal Services on Saturday and Sunday. Call it Black Fur-day: all dogs, cats and rabbits with black fur or even just a smattering of that color will be half price Saturday, Nov. 25 and Sunday, Nov. 26.

The deal gets even better if you adopt a buddy for your new pet; the second one is free. On top of that, the bonus buddy can be any color.

County Animal Services will be closed on Thanksgiving, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24 but during those days you can see which animals may be available for the weekend special by visiting Animal Services’ adoption web page. Be first in line on Saturday to get the animal, or animals, of your choice.

If the pets have already been spayed or neutered, they’ll be ready to go home the same day they are adopted. If not, you may need to wait a few days so they can get altered before you pick them up.

All of the animals will go home with their current vaccinations, a microchip and the option to get a free veterinary exam within the first 10 days of adoption.

The County’s three shelters are located in Carlsbad, Gaines Street in San Diego and in Bonita. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and close at 5:30 p.m. Normal business days run Tuesday through Sunday.
