Grab your little ghouls and goblins and head out to the Waterfront Park Sunday, Oct. 19 for a free pumpkin patch party.
The little monsters will get a chance to choose from hundreds of pumpkins scattered along the southwest lawn and decorate one to their hearts’ content with stickers and foam cutouts at one of the arts and crafts decorating booths.
The little ones can also jump up and down over the 50-foot-long inflatable obstacle course and a giant inflatable slide. An 11-year-old from La Mesa will take the stage and show off her singing chops at noon, and a magician and a DJ will also lend to the party atmosphere. If the kids love creepy crawlies, be sure to search out the park ranger for a close-up look at some of those creatures and other animals on display.

You can get some goofy snapshots at the festive family photo booth then buy a bite to eat from one of two food trucks. You can also chill out with some frozen yogurt.
The fountains will be turned on so bring some towels in case the kids decide to cool off by running through the water. The event starts at 11 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m. One pumpkin will be allowed per child while supplies last.
