The County’s Parks and Recreation Department is holding a virtual Dia de los Muertos Festival from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday that will feature regional dance performances, a cultural storytime and a “how-to” arts and crafts workshop.
The County has broken ground on $11.2 million of work to rejuvenate and improve Lakeside’s popular Lindo Lake County Park, including removing more than 200,000 tons of built-up sediment from the lake’s east basin.
County Supervisor Dianne Jacob and parks officials held a first-ever “virtual” groundbreaking to mark the start of construction of the long-awaited $16.9 million Lakeside Equestrian Park Wednesday.
San Diego County park rangers have selected 12 picture perfect parks for you to visit. Each has a picturesque spot for you to find and document. Some of the photo spots are easy to get to, like a trailhead. Others require an eagle eye and a few miles of trekking on moderate to hard trails. However, all are scenic.
County officials held a grand opening Saturday for the Sweetwater Bike Park, a first-of-its-kind installment for County Parks offering a variety of bike trails and special skills courses.
County Board Chairwoman Dianne Jacob, environmental groups, tribal representatives, Parks officials and hundreds of visitors celebrated the opening of the $9.5 million Santa Ysabel Nature Center Saturday.
