Check Out the Festive Family Fun at County Library Branches

Reading Time: < 1 minute

It might not be the North Pole, but there are several “elves” busy inside the County of San Diego’s Public Library branches making sure there are plenty of ways for families across the county to enjoy the festive holiday season.

The calendar is filled with nearly five dozen holiday-themed events for all ages between now and Dec. 27.

Santa visits, crafts where you can make gifts, cookie decorating, floral arranging, concerts, sing-alongs, LEGOs and even a Frozen movie-themed party are on tap. All the events are free.

The library is also having a “12 Days of Cookies” contest. Participants should bake a cookie recipe from a book borrowed from the library, then send in the book title and a photo of your finished cookies.

Submissions will be accepted through Dec. 21. There will be a random drawing for a gift card and all submissions will be featured on the library’s website. There’s even a list of suggested cookbooks for you to get started.
