A homeless outreach effort in the Waterfront Park is changing lives through direct, same day assistance. The County’s Department of Homeless Solutions and Equitable Communities teamed up with Sheriff’s deputies, Sheriff’s resource teams and other County support teams to walk the park and engage with unsheltered individuals. County public health nurses were also standing by to help.
Events like this one are critical in reaching people where they are and connecting them to resources immediately.
