County employees gathered Tuesday to give back the community. The San Diego County Employees’ Charitable Organization (CECO) awarded a total of $139,622 in grants to 88 nonprofit programs located throughout the San Diego region at its annual breakfast at the County Operations Center in Kearny Mesa.
Charitable organizations receiving grants included the Burn Institute, Feeding San Diego, Hospice of the North Coast, MANA de San Diego, Outdoor Outreach, Special Olympics San Diego and Workshop for Warriors.
CECO was established in 1956. The organization gives 100 percent of the donations received from employees and retirees to help local nonprofit organizations and County employees and retirees in crisis.
