Speaking from San Miguel Fire Station 16 in Spring Valley, the Chairwoman also thanked County workers and partners for their recovery efforts.

People were invited to visit one of four sites around the County today for Day of Service and donate new and unused items like cleaning equipment, clothing and personal hygiene supplies. Donation drop-offs will continue at Jackie Robinson YMCA during the following hours: Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

County Supervisor Monica Montgomery Steppe also thanked San Diegans for their response and highlighted the work of the County’s Local Assistance Center which has served more than 1,000 families since it opened on Sunday at the Spring Valley County Library as a one-stop shop for resources.

County Leaders are asking San Diegans to take precautions to protect their property and families ahead of more rain expected early Thursday.
