VIDEO: Dog Loses Leg, Gains New Family

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Weeks after having her leg severed by a car and being left untreated for days, Solei has a new home.

“Any day an animal leaves our shelter, it’s a good day,” said Dan DeSousa, deputy director of County Animal Services.

Solei’s new owner saw her story on the news and was upset over the neglect of her injury.

People submitted applications to adopt the spunky terrier mix, who now has three legs, but one lucky family got to take her home.

Solei’s story is a reminder for residents to say something if they see something.

Solei came to us only because someone saw something wrong and spoke up. We need the community to be our eyes and ears.
