Pet of the Week – Cleopatra

She certainly has the regal bearing that befits a queen. But our Cleopatra won’t stand on ceremony with those who realize that underneath it all, she’s just a young cat that loves to hang out with people and snuggle.

Cleopatra’s attendants say she is sweet, easy to handle and loves to be petted. She gets along well with big dogs but might want to be the only queen bee, I mean, cat in the house.

Cleopatra is a 2-year-old spayed silver tabby who is holding court at the County’s animal care facility in Carlsbad. The shelter is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and is located at 2481 Palomar Airport Road.

Cleopatra’s animal ID number is A1793240 and her adoption fee is $60. That price includes current vaccinations, viral testing, microchip and registration and flea control plus a free veterinary exam within the first 10 days. For more information, visit or call (619) 767-2675.
