Pet of the Week – Jalapeño

Reading Time: < 1 minute

A jalapeño is known to be a hot chili pepper but our Jalapeño isn’t fiery at all. Our 4-year-old red and white retriever blend is calm, walks nicely on the leash except for a little tug now and then, and he knows his commands. He sits for treats and even sits at the corner before crossing a street!

When he’s not out for a walk, our guy likes to sit near you and cuddle. If you’re standing, you’ll find him lying at your feet.

Want to know more? Well, he loves to chew on tennis balls or rope toys.

If you’d like to meet our sweet Jalapeño, stop by the County Animal Services’ animal care facility located at 2481 Palomar Airport Road in Carlsbad. We’re closed Sunday, Dec. 25 for the holiday but the shelter is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

His animal ID number is A1737919 and his adoption fee is only $35. That price includes current vaccinations, a microchip and registration, flea control plus a free veterinary exam within the first 10 days.
