Pet of the Week – Pico

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Meet Pico! This 2-year-old male pit bull mix is easy going and enjoys hanging out with his people friends at the shelter. While that’s fun, Pico has a secret wish – a fur-ever home with an owner that will spend time with him, either exercising outside or relaxing at home. If Pico sounds like your kind of dog, come in and meet this big hunk of love!

He’s waiting for you at the County’s animal care facility in Carlsbad located at 2481 Palomar Airport Road. You can ask for him by his identification number A1739917. Pico is also considered a “diamond in the rough” because he’s been at the shelter for over 30 days. As a result, his adoption fee is half of the normal fee at only $35.00. That price includes current vaccinations, flea control, a microchip plus a free veterinary exam within the first 10 days.

As part of a 90-day pilot project, all three of the County’s shelters are now open on Sundays except for holidays. So feel free to stop by between 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday to check out the adoptable animals.
