VIDEO: Round-the-Clock Care for Icy Roads

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Yes, San Diego is known for its nearly perfect weather, but we get snow here in the region, too!

We met up with James Campbell, who’s with the Department of Public Works in the Roads Division, while he was working with his crew around the clock to help keep the roads open and safe for the public up in Palomar Mountain.

“A safety item [to bring] is plenty of warm clothes, of course,” said Campbell. “And bring a shovel and maybe some sand so if you start slipping and sliding you can get yourself unstuck.”

Chain controls, road condition updates and other safety advisories about County-maintained roads are posted on the Department of Public Work’s Facebook and Twitter sites.

Stay warm, dry and safe out there!
