Reading Time: < 1 minute

County Supervisor Joel Anderson, County library officials, Friends of the Lakeside library, library staff, partners and Lakeside residents gathered Thursday to celebrate the groundbreaking of the County’s new Lakeside library branch.

The new library will be a Zero Net Energy (ZNE) building and will feature a 2,200-square-foot dividable community room with a patio and serving kitchen for large events, multiple study rooms, and spaces entirely dedicated to children and teens, as well as 61 dedicated parking spots.

This library will be able to accommodate the needs of the ever-growing Lakeside community; the 16,400-square-foot building will be over three times larger than the existing 5,000-square-foot library that was built in 1961.
