San Diego County Reminding EBT Users of Outage This Weekend

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) users statewide will not be able to access their benefits for a 24-hour period this weekend starting at 11 p.m. Saturday, June 23 until 11 p.m. Sunday, June 24.

San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency officials are advising cardholders to plan ahead for their shopping needs and for getting cash.

The reason for the outage is the State of California is transitioning from the current EBT vendor to a new vendor. Officials said the planned outage is necessary to complete the transition and EBT System update.

In addition, The EBT Customer Services telephone number will not be available during that same time period.  EBT cardholders will not be able to speak to EBT Customer Service.  The EBT client website at www.ebt.ca.gov will also be offline from 10:00 p.m. Friday June 22 until 11:00 p.m. Sunday, June 24.  During that period, you will not be able to log in to the EBT web site.

The State of California mailed out notices of the outage to EBT users earlier this month.

More information on the outage can be found at http://www.cdss.ca.gov/.
